Reviews and Ratings
The hotel was a mix of delight and disappointment. The rooms were lovely and made my 90-year-old mother happy to stay in her hometown, but they lacked a thermostat for temperature control and were in need of major updating. The service was over the top, with friendly and helpful staff who made the expected breakfast a success. The location in downtown Taos was terrific, making it easy to walk to stores and restaurants, although some challenges like an older window latch affected the overall experience. The dining experience had some inconveniences, such as during restaurant downtime and a too leisurely service, but offered gourmet products.
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The rooms were nice, but a little cramped with extra furniture. However, having separate TVs in each room was a nice touch. The service was excellent, especially during these uncertain times, as the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The location was perfect for exploring shops and restaurants, and the cool rooms with ceiling fans added to the fun atmosphere. The dining experience, although not included and a bit slow, was decent overall.
The hotel surprised me in a good way! The rooms with the promised plaza view were cleaner and brighter than expected, and I loved the 'Forbidden' paintings. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the location made it easy for us to get where we needed to go. However, I was disappointed that there was no air conditioning, especially when I found out this was not as advertised on their website, but overall, the service was top-notch and really saved the day.
